Economic Assistance

The JFS Economic Mobility and Opportunity (EMO) team leads innovative projects that are designed to address the root causes of poverty and socioeconomic disparities. Through these programs, the goal is to cut child poverty in San Diego in half by 2030.

Assist in the Office

Administrative Volunteer

Assist with responding to program inquiries, drafting communications and informational pamphlets, and other administrative tasks.

  • Located at the Joan & Irwin Jacobs Campus.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • 6-month minimum commitment, 3 hours per week.
  • Must complete program interview and a background check.

Assist with Events

Events Volunteer

Assist with planning, setting up for, and cleaning up at EMO community events.

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • 6-month minimum commitment, 3 hours per week.
  • Evening and weekend availability.
  • Must complete program interview and a background check.
