WHAT:
|
“The Role of Compassion in Social Change,” this year’s luncheon hosted by the Center for Jewish Care, features Rabbi Dr. Shmuly Yanklowitz in conversation with Michael Hopkins, CEO of Jewish Family Service, about how acts of compassion can bridge divides, heal communities and drive systemic change. The afternoon focuses on how the core Jewish value of compassion can serve as a catalyst for social transformation. In this thought-provoking discussion, Rabbi Shmuly, a global social justice activist, published author, educator and speaker will reference contemporary case studies and his own experiences. According to Yanklowitz, the event will be an opportunity to come together and talk about how we will continue to build our community around the central virtue of compassion, while deepening our moral commitment.
