CalFresh is a public benefits food assistance program that provides qualifying households with a loaded debit card to buy groceries. The cards are reloaded automatically each month with CalFresh benefits. You can use the card to buy groceries at the grocery store and even local farmer’s markets. The amount of benefits a household receives is dependent on household size, countable income, and monthly expenses- including housing and utilities.
