Nutrition Assistance

Community Distribution

The community distributions are offered throughout San Diego County and offer fresh produce, canned/dried goods, groceries, and pet food when available.

The in-person congregate dining is offered throughout San Diego for adults aged 60 years and older. All lunches are served kosher style.

The Corner Market is a point-based grocery store, where you can choose items free of charge based on family size and need. It offers plenty of healthy choices, including fresh fruits and vegetables, meats and dairy, baked goods, prepared meals, hygiene, and baby items.

A volunteer-supported delivery service, providing kosher-style meals and wellness checks for older adults and those who are homebound by disability.

If you need help applying for CalFresh, also known as SNAP benefits, we can help walk you through the application process and assist with submitting supporting documentation and annual recertification.

Economic Mobility & Opportunity

San Diego for Every Child Guaranteed Income Project (SDEC GIP)

The San Diego for Every Child Guaranteed Income Project provides 150 families within four zip codes in San Diego County. Families receive $500 in monthly cash payments for 24 months.

Black Women’s Resilience Project (BWRP)

Through this program, we seek to understand the racial and ethnic experience of poverty as a social construct, rather than a character deficit, and actively develop solutions to eliminate it.

Recovery Action Fund for Tomorrow (RAFT)

Recovery Action Fund for Tomorrow (RAFT) will provide one-time cash distributions in the amount of $4,000 to families with children under 18 years of age and seniors, prioritizing those at risk of homelessness.

Family Income for Empowerment Program (FIEP)

In partnership with the County of San Diego Child Welfare Services Department (CWS), the Family Income for Empowerment Program will give 485 eligible families with children under 18 referred by CWS unrestricted monthly cash support of $500 for 24 months.

A unique mentoring program for Jewish children, ages 6-16, who are being raised in a variety of family situations—often by single parents, grandparents, or legal guardians.

The JFS-David Rubenstein Memorial Scholarship provides grants to students from San Diego’s Jewish Community who plan to attend college or vocational school.
